Program Description

Details

Cyndie Carioli, Senior Justice Advocate in the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office will cover the basics of phone, email, text and mail fraud but will focus on credit card scam issues and how to stay safe. She will also bring a SKIMMER to show everyone what to look for on the card reader machines.

Credit card scams are becoming more sophisticated—and harder to spot. In this informative program, attendees will learn how common credit card scams work, what warning signs to watch for, and practical steps to protect their personal and financial information. Participants will also get a hands-on look at a real credit card skimmer and see how easily it can blend into a legitimate card reader setup. Leave feeling more confident, informed, and better prepared to avoid becoming a victim of credit card fraud.
